Vivid screen mode will not be fixed/updated!!!

Spoke with samsung last week and they confirmed that they are aware of the washed out screens on all S24 models and will be sending an update to fix it. After reading some comments, I called them back today and now they are saying that they deliberately made them like that to look more natural and there will be no update for this. This is clearly not right as the vivid/natural mode does not work and should not be there if this function doesn't exist anymore. Someone else I spoke to after at samsung said they should fix that mode if it's something that clearly doesn't work and is already built in the display settings. I've been having some glitches again especially with calls on loudspeaker or Bluetooth. And it just heats up a lot when under stress. Something I'm sure wouldn't happen with the snapdragon variant. I have two more days left until I can return it. I also read elsewhere that the charging cable you get with the plus and ultra isn't for 45watt speed charging, only 25watts. Reminds me of only getting a 15watt charger in the box with my S7+ tablet which is advertised as 45watts. ***** take this. How much more money do they want without providing us with the same global quality? I feel really betrayed by them. Especially with this exynos rubbish as my experience hasn't been great. Much better experience and consistency last year on the S23 regular I had. I don't find any of the S24 models an upgrade over the S23 models apart from the S24 plus screen. Seen numerous videos how the pictures look better on last years S23 models. I'll be handing this S24 + back tomorrow. Not confident about it at all moving forward. I really like the design but also need peace of mind not headaches. May wait for the oppo which apparently will be shipping globally and looks the business. No short cuts like samsung. Everything and more in the box. Miss those simpler days...

I too contacted Samsung and the advisor said they were aware and they were fixing it. I'm not sure how much the advisors actually know but I am still hoping for an update. If the advisor only told me what I wanted to hear so I wouldn't return the phone I will have lost alot of trust in Samsung. I will not go near them again.

They are not fixing it as it's not an issue. That's what samsung told me yesterday. Honestly it's awful how some people are happy with this washed out screen. It looks worse than natural. Far too much colour missing. Unacceptable for the price and definitely not an upgrade! Don't waste your time hoping for a fix. I'm giving mine back later on today. My S105g from 2019 looks so much better and sharper. I'm happy to carry on with it until I see something worth paying my hard earned money for. The different people I spoke with at samsung were awful for information regarding this issue. Bad communication amongst all of them. This exynos version also badly heated up again yesterday as I was uploading pictures. It does it a lot slower than the S23 regular I had last year with the lovely 8gen2 chip. My advice would be to steer clear of all the S24 models.

There's far too much nonsense being posted around the internet these days. My personal experience has so far been great I'm saddened that's not the case for everyone.

The samsung charging cable that came with my s24 ultra works fine on my phone. I use the cable with a Tecknet 100W charger and it does indeed super fast charge as intended.

The vivid /natural toggle does not work as intended on my phone. Rooting the phone and tweaking some settings I have now got the phone to look amazing, therefore I am positive there will be an update for the vivid /natural display problem.

Thankfully I do not have any other issues apart from the vivid /natural toggle not working as standard.

At the end of the day if something is not working as intended, broken, smells funny or is just not meeting expectations in another way, send it back, replace it, modify and personalise it or even blow it up with dynamite and move on. Life is too short.

Too late now as I gave my S24 plus exynos back yesterday. Tbh, vivid screen aside, the cameras were very underwhelming compared to the S23 regular I owned last year. I take plenty of pictures with my son and they have to be good with the tech we have nowadays. I also used an oppo find x5 pro last year and they took the best pictures. Better than the Samsung phones. Also, if I want an iPhone (which I don't), I would buy one. Samsung needs to stop nearly everything iPhone does. Charger, design and now even worse than natural looking washed out screen. The iPhones natural looks better than the new S24 models. Has more colour. After owning it for nearly two weeks, I was hating the design. No regrets as it's not an upgrade but a downgrade with everything I mentioned especially the cameras. Apparently Samsung came 18th in some ranking thing regarding camera quality. For me, Samsung have got far too comfortable with us and do not reward us like they should be. Perfect example is the trash exynos version which I had numerous problems with. The overheating when uploading pictures, the overheating after only using it for 30 minutes lightly and the fact that I had to restart it twice so far is just unacceptable. Far too expensive for something that's more a downgrade in my opinion. Thought I'd also mention that the screen quality on my S105g from 2019 looks better. I'm writing on it now. The S24 models are not good. I've seen other people complaining and giving theirs back. Samsung really shouldn't put the exynos chips anywhere near their flagship s series. I will never buy another Samsung with exynos. I gave this one a chance as it had some promising reviews but unfortunately was a bad experience. I've also been told that companies deliberately enhance their chips to score highly on geekbench etc. That makes sense. Real world use is what you want to worry about.

Why is it awful? People like different things, I hate the way some people turn the colours up in their TVs, so everything loom unatural, but each to their own. personally, I am happy with my s24u it so much better than my old s21

I've just explained the exact same thing about my friends tv to him he's sent his s24 ultra back because of the vivid/ natural toggle issue and has kept his old s21 ultra too.

He hates my tv too because it's setup differently to his 😂

People like different things?? If so, then why has that option not been given to us? It's not acceptable not been told this was going to be the case moving forward and I'm sure over 90% of customers would rather have the choice than it be forced on us. What happens if your watching luminous coloured stuff? It wouldn't look right let alone natural with this new look screen. You can't spend that sort of money for a screen like that and not even be able to enjoy it like most of us used to. Not sure aswell why my S105g from 2019 just looks sharper when viewing movies etc.. Samsung will not be selling many s24 models this year. I've happily given my S24+ back. I felt cheated and betrayed. Especially with the horrible exynos experience I had yet again. You just cannot put exynos anywhere near the flagship s series phones.
