UI 7 update disappointment, broke notifications

This update forcibly groups my messaging app conversations, hiding that I have multiple messages. I've missed several important messages because of this. Previously I could see if there were messages from multiple people.

This has nothing to do with the options "manage notification categories for each app" or "app icon badges" so please do not suggest these fixes, as they don't work.

This update was such a disappointment. You broke things that were working and forced AI onto everyone whether they want to or not. If I've disable Writing Assist, why does it still show up when selecting text.

Which app are you using for messages?

Plus ai isn't forced, just don't click the button if you don't want to use it.

You say not to suggest fixes but this is literally the place to ask for fixes. Samsung don't check here so if you don't want help, your post does nothing but scream into the void

The AI bubble now blocks copy/paste/select all even though I have disabled it. It's basically clutter/spam. I didn't say suggest fixes, I said don't give me irrelevant info - a lot of requests here get irrelevant answers that Samsung then marks as "solved".

Samsung staff aren't here. All the solved markers are done by the person who made the original post. So it's the person asking the question who marks it as solved.

It doesn't seem to block copy and paste on my end. I see a little ai icon to the left but copy and paste is still there in it's original size.

Need a little more info on the messaging app with the notification issues. I've not experienced grouping like you have so I need go you explain a little more

The grouping of notifications is done by the app itself. See https://developer.android.com/develop/ui/views/notifications?hl=de#bundle

As far as I understand your messaging app developer needs to 'ungroup' notifications e.g. a group per sender in an Email app. As I am using K9 Mail they group notifications per account only.

Btw: I hate all this notifications changes. When there is new mails I want to open the app with one tap. But Android 15 unwraps all mails in the notification screen first 🤦‍♀️. So I need to tap twice. It's so annoying.

Update: I found MS Edge doing it right, each download ends up in not grouped notifications 😃

It's really bad, nothing can be done to get notifications bad to a normal size and display? I have stacks of notifications from the work app and I can't access the important ones and discard the spam unless I want to get in an accident. It's really dangerous, not to mention I can't see all the notifs in one screen at a glance now, I have to fully focus on the phone and scroll down to get the status, which makes it so much worse in terms of safety.

The disappearing of the icons for BT, GPS, NFC, VPN, VoLTE, alarms, etc. and the app icons (more than 2 anyways) that used to be accessible at a glance is another huge issue.

I paid a lot for what I thought was a high-end phone and it doesn't even have basic customization for notifications and icons. It feels like a kids toy now with the big colorful gimmicks and reads like a phone for the elderly with these gigantic notifications. Not to mention it's impossible to work now. What a scam.

Oh I know trust me. I've been at it for days, trying to get my phone to be functional again and to get rid of all the childish gimmicks that drain the battery while making the phone much less easy to use. I went down to the Samsung store a soon as I got the dreaded update, to see what was wrong and how I could restore it to something more usable/professional. I paid good money for a phone that looks like a child's and has the information hidden instead of accessible at a glance.

Turns out you can't customize anything, and the non-functional, cheap-looking changes are by default now. What made the phone a great tool for work is now gone. I deeply regret switching from iphone, that has to be the worst scam Samsung has pulled on their high-end users.
