Well i bought my samsung s24 ultra, and of course with all the hype about the camera you have to test it.
Now i noticed something that i don't really understand and unless someone from samsung actually explains i would classify it almost as a scam.

Every picture taken with 200mb camera has a size of 123 mb, doesnt matter if it is a landscape or a completly black background picture. And i have taken dozens of pictures in several backgrounds, different collours and everything... please explain that to me.
And honestly there is basically no difference between the 3 cameras appart from the size of pictures in memory used.

I think you're confusing your mega pixels with your megabytes

Photos taken at 200MP take up a lot more internal storage space than photos taken at 12MP. A normal 12MP, 4000 x 3000-pixel photo is usually between 2MB and 5MB, but a 200MP, 16320 x 12240 photo can be between 35MB and 50MB.

I do understand the difference, i realize i wrote it wrong but what i meant was, it is impossible that a picture of a black background takes the exact same storage as a landscape, and it looks like you have some knowledge of it yourself, so tell m how can 20 pictures of different things have the exact same 123mb used for storage? And then check the quality and is basically the same, or tell you what, try on your camera to take pictures and then check the size od them and then tell m if i am wrong.

Lol just compare the storage between the pictures taken with the 200 camera... they have all the same storage used, how can they use the exact same megapixeis on each photo?1709742509696.jpg1709742509714.jpg1709742509736.jpg

You do understand your phone is literally scaling all 200MP photos to 1/24th the size of the actual image right? In order to actually view your photos natively, you'd need a screen 9.5x wider and 5.5x longer than your actual phone screen. Perhaps you should go read up a little on what resolution and pixels mean first. You then might understand why images are typically around 20MB to 40MB (not 123MB) for 200MP pictures.

Can you show me where you're getting 123Mb from? Your three pictures show 28.82Mb, 14.92Mb and 18.48Mb for 200MP, which is fine. I'll bet a 12MP set of the same shots will take up less space. I don't understand your problem.

I wouldn't worry, if you want good quality then use it, if you dont then dont. But i find that 12mp is more than enough for photos even on my s23u.

I'd hope so, but after my first weekend of use of Samsung S24 Ultra, imagine my frustration, to see that default auto photos in 12 MP take up around 10MB!! Some up to 12MB... This is crazy. Coming after iPhone with 12MP occupying 2-4 MB in general and up to 5.5MB max... *****... My 200 GB of photos on Iphone mean what 1 TB on Samsung? Poor trade 😞 Something they should at least write about to customers deciding on the size of storage...
