S24 Plus - Google Wallet issues

Please help!!! I cannot add any payment cards to Google Wallet and am therefore unable to pay for anything using contactless.
I have literally tried everything -
Ordered new bank cards (with 3 separate banks), deleted google pay and reinstalled it (several times), cleared the cache and data of the app, checked that all software and app updates are done, reset the device, contacted bank and everything is ok their end. Checked that all personal details are correct in my Google account.
I'm sure this is an issue with the device as I can log into my Google account on my partners device and am able to add the cards with no problem. The message I'm getting is, "couldn't finish setup for pay contactless"
Is anyone aware of any known issues with the S24?

Hi and Welcome.

Are you setting this up on a new phone?

Was it working before and not working now?

I am presuming your Google account is same country as where you purchased the phone and there are no clashes with the phone firmware.

I have the s25 ultra and juat moved from Samsung pay to Google pay and so far no issues.

Maybe try Samsung pay and see if it works.

Usually it is the banks at fault. When you call them they can sometimes fix it, but often it's some internal anti fraud system. The only way I've found to get past that system is install your banking app on your phone, try adding your card each week. Might take a month or two but eventually it works.

Issue is the bank rejecting the phone for it being untrusted. Support staff cannot speed up the trust

Yes, it's a new handset. I can add the cards to Google pay but not to the wallet for contactless payments.
I can't use Samsung Pay as it not supported by Natwest who I bank with.

Hi. I've tried adding the cards through the banking app but get the same message. This has been going on for 8 weeks now - I have tried leaving it for over 2 weeks before re-attempting to add the cards but still no luck. I can add the cards without a problem on a different device. It's frustrating!

It took me around 2 months for it to finally work. Some banks work instantly, some banks need you to call them, some take AGES. I'd suggest using curve as a temporary measure. Creates a sorta virtual card for you to use contactless with

I'm not sure how patient I can be! I've called my banks several times and they can't see any reason why the cards cannot be verified. I thought the days of carrying a physical wallet were behind me😂

Thank you. I have tried everything on that page. Contacted Google Support who have been about as much use as a chocolate teapot!😂

I am guessing you bought the phone in the UK and not some online shop where the phone was shipped from a different country as most people seem to have issues with those .
