I never knew about doing this.

The annoying part about it is. If there's more than one update, they are not rolled into one. You have to do each update one after the other.
No idea why Google can't put these updates in with the Android updates together

But in fairness to Samsung, April Security out on 26th March? Can't come much quicker..... Can it???

It is a very useful thing to Ensure that your Google Play System is upto date @Star_girl, as it can help fix app issues and even help your device run faster. You would be surprised at how many other people, like your good self, do not yet know about the advantages of doing this. I only learnt about this from the good helpful people in this Members app myself, about a year ago now.
