This may be my last Samsung phone after almost 15 years of using samsung phones. This is the new age of software battle. So far samsung is not competing. We have received lot of AI features which is a good thing but one UI 6 is still very unoptimised. It is sad when one UI cannot even compete with ColorOS in terms of smoothness and fluidity. There is a reason more android users are switching to iOS because the attention to detail by Apple software engineers is unparalleled. So why havent i switched then, solely because of the lack of multitasking on iOS 18, and I also hope one UI 7 finally gets it right.

Man a lot of iOS is still years out of date.
I have a 15 Pro Max and frankly hate the thing. There's so much more you can do with Android.
Colour OS is nice. But I prefer One UI with the features that comes with it.
I'm using Android 15 on a Pixel, it's really fluid. But a bit featureless. It's a bit soulless to me.
I'd definitely not give up my S24 Ultra and Z Fold 5 for an iPhone
Only reason I have an iPhone is is for work. Otherwise I'd bin it
I'm even trying out the iOS Beta software. Frankly it's just not advancing software wise much at all.
I know One UI 6.1 is not for everyone, but I don't think it's too bad. Maybe some of the styling is not my cup of tea, so hopefull that One UI 7.0 will look a bit more grown up when it arrives
But I'm definitely looking forward to what's coming with One UI

Totally understand and appreciate your viewpoint @Sabclips

Samsung are always striving to improve both hardware and software.

Perhaps send feedback via your Samsung Members App.

In regards to Apple and iOS even they have issues.

Also take into consideration that iOS is made by Apple exclusively for Apple devices.

No-one outside of Apple can tinker with it.

Android is open sourced with Samsung applying the One Ui Skin on it.

Due to this it's more customisable so phone's have the capability of behaving differently due to customisation.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

I find One UI especially on flagships smoother than likes of Colour OS. On Colour OS some apps don't run I think 120hz mode like YouTube etc but Samsung does. I don't get any lag or fluidity problems. As for iOS that's a totally different platform and I found it to be sometimes suffering with stutter when I tried a 15 Pro Max. Hated the OS and it's too limited. Don't get me started on this dumb argument of iOS and Android. Am sorry but iOS is still years behind Android in terms of new features it offers. It's only just now on iOS 18 offering anything customisable. Poor

I personally wouldn't consider an iPhone. I agree they are popular in particular with younger people and have some advantages such as security and software consistency etc but I don't like the way apple does business and the way functions are withheld or controlled to make you buy stuff etc.

However I can understand some disillusionment with Samsung. I think Samsung make superior devices but run inferior or at least buggy software so I feel I have had few occasions where my phone has operated up to its full capability. My phones have been S7, S9, S20+ S22U, S23U and S24U. The model with fewest issues was the S7 and had the S9 with no issues but no noticeable improvement over the S7.

The worst teething problems have been app compatibility, browser issues e.g dead links etc and a consistent issue from the S22 on has been network connectivity issues. My worst model was the S22U but I think that model is better now with software bugs fixed

I think the issue is a change in emphasis in the race to release new models so models seem to be released first and bugs sorted later, which can be very frustrating. But as buyers we are part of the problem as we want tomorrow's release delivered yesterday so it's a tough market

I won't be rushing to upgrade my S24U and hoping new updates will be smoother and less buggy

I may consider other Android models but wouldn't consider ios.

If I consider a new Samsung it will be a few models down the line and after I can check it cuts the mustard especially on the software side

Hope this makes sense

I really understand the various viewpoints, and I am not at all disputing any of them, especially with how feature rich one UI is. But my 2 main issues are the optimization of the software and the smoothness. For example, I am someone who is usually on the road, so I turn to use google Maps and Uber apps a lot. These 2 apps are nightmare for my battery life, with Uber draining about 1% per minute. Similar but slightly better results are recorded for the maps. However, my kid brother's iPhone 14 pro max at worst has about 5-6minutes per every 1% drop with these apps. The apps also "feel" more fluid on his iPhone. I can't even wrap my head around how google Map is more optimized on iOS than android. Generally, the almost 2 years old iPhone seems to "efficiently" handle energy demanding tasks better than my 7 month old flagship
