Issues with Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pass

Samsung Wallet

  1. Performance Issues
When opening Samsung Wallet by swiping up from the screen-off, Always On Display, Home screen, or Lock screen, the animations are choppy. The card setup lags, and the fingerprint prompt takes a noticeable second to show up. This makes the experience feel unpolished and slower than expected for a financial app where speed is critical.

  2. Curve Card Limitation for UK Users
For UK users, unsupported cards require using the Curve Card, which has its own limitations:

    • You can only add up to 3 cards on the free tier.
    • Samsung Wallet doesn’t display any card information natively from Curve.

Similar to how Samsung Food pulls step data from Samsung Health, Samsung Wallet could integrate with Curve to display card details directly. Currently, the Curve app is disturbingly slow to start (even slower than some games), which makes using Samsung Wallet less seamless. Apple Wallet, for example, shows detailed account information natively, which could be a good addition to Samsung Wallet.

  3. Lack of .pkpass Support
Many event organizers and transport providers use .pkpass files for tickets, which are supported by Google Wallet and Apple Wallet. Samsung Wallet, however, does not support .pkpass. While I understand this could be due to a lack of partnership development with event providers, adding .pkpass compatibility would solve this issue. This would enable Samsung Wallet to support a majority of movie, bus, train, and airplane tickets without needing direct integrations.

Samsung Pass

  1. Password Import Issues
Importing passwords from managers like Bitwarden doesn’t work well:

    • Password entries with both Android app URIs and web URIs are ignored during import.
    • Notes and OTP fields from Bitwarden are not imported, which means critical information is lost.
    • I had to export passwords from Bitwarden to iCloud Passwords (ironically) before they were importable into Samsung Pass.
  2. Exporting Passwords
Exporting passwords from Samsung Pass is only possible in a proprietary format, which is encrypted and non-standard. This makes it impossible to view or convert the exported data into other formats. While I understand the importance of encryption, the lack of an open or convertible format feels restrictive.

  3. OTP Functionality
The OTP functionality, as it stands, is almost useless. The description states that if the OTP is saved with the password, clicking it will autocopy the code. However, this has never worked for me. I always have to go into Samsung Pass and manually copy the OTP, which is cumbersome. Until this feature works as intended, I find it more practical to use Bitwarden for OTPs.

Hello @Bananz0  👋

Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.

Personally I choose to use Google Wallet which I find seamless, and fluid to use.

As this forum is predominantly a user to user help and discussion forum please do send your feedback directly to Samsung via your Samsung Members App too so that Samsung can analyse this.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

In autm last year I was introduced to combine Samsung Pass with Samsung Wallet. SSo I did it and it workt well. But today I wanted to search a specific Passwort to an App and I realized, that Wallet only wants to scann NFC after taking my fingerprint. There is no section for the Passwords anymore. Where are they gone?
