HI,
after updating my S24 to Android 16 UI 8.0, few days ago, my app Oruxmaps stops recording track or hangs giving false GPS position. I reset to Factory S24, hoping it recovers ti Android 15, and the problem persists. App Oruxmaps does sistematically stop/hang in recording gps tracks vith Android 16. Can somebody help me ?
Thanks. Klaus

I have the same problem recording tracks with Strava. The GPS appears to have a valid position but it keeps outputting the same coordinates. This could be quite dangerous when hiking in the mountains. In my experience it seems to happen when I am recording a hike and stop for a minute or so. When I start moving the recorded position stays stuck where I stopped. If I keep moving it doesn't seem to happen.

Hi @DaveE128! We welcome you to our Community!
I'm sorry for the situation encountered when using the Strava application.
First you need to check whether what you find is the functioning of the service used or the hardware functioning of our Samsung device.
Have you had the opportunity to check whether, using different services that require the use of GPS, for example Maps, you encounter the same situation?
In that case, is the position updated correctly?
I also ask you if you are referring to a Galaxy S24 or a different model of smartphone.
In this case, in order to confirm the correct functioning of the GPS, I suggest you proceed with starting a diagnostic via the Members service.
To be able to start diagnostics, just follow these simple steps:
- Open Members app
- Support
- Smartphone diagnostics
Check whether, in the "Precise position" section, the required actions are found.
We await your kind feedback on this matter.

Hi @Perklaus, I understand your disappointment.
I kindly ask you to reproduce the anomaly and, within three minutes, send us an error report, following these simple steps:
- Open the pre-installed Samsung Members application
- Go to Support item
- Select the Report an error item
Next, you will need to enter a detailed description of the anomaly and attach the system registry data, check the entry at the bottom “Send system registry data” and finally select “Always”.
In this way, our Research and Development Team will be able to examine the inconvenience, analyzing the registry data, and provide a feedback in the shortest time possible.
I remain at your disposal.
Have a nice day.

Hi,
I have the same problem with the application iphigenie, it seems that the Gps position freeze when you reuse the application interactive.
When the problem appears , the GPS position was also false for any other application using GPS ( maps, organics maps).
Do you know which version solde this problem, or where can I consult this kind of news.
Best regards.

Hi Danilo,
Thanks very much for your reply,
Regarding the diagnostic, every things was ok ( cf screenshot of gps testing).
Since the update, the problem appear very often, it is impossible to record correctly your trek.
I have also sent a request directly to samsung france and to the support of Iphigenie. At this stage none of them have sent a solution, only samedi suggestion.
Regards.

Hi @Members_dXD7jFH,
thank you so much. I have another question, now: if you use a different App, like Google Maps or someone different that uses the GPS, is everything ok?
The positive test of GPS it'a proof of no hardware issues on your device.
Let us know.
Have a nice day!
