GPS Tracking problem after udtating to android 16

HI, 

  after updating my S24 to Android 16 UI 8.0, few days ago,  my app Oruxmaps stops recording track or hangs giving false GPS position.  I reset to Factory S24, hoping it recovers ti Android 15, and the problem persists.  App Oruxmaps does sistematically stop/hang in recording gps tracks vith Android 16. Can somebody help me ?

The problem is with One UI 8, we are waiting for the update with the October patches that should lead to the correction of these bugs

Have you noticed if this anomaly only occurs with the Oruxmaps app or also with other apps that involve the use of GPS? What happens, for example, if you use the Google Maps app?

@darkginopaoli, ho avuto modo di constatare che anche tu stai riscontrando un'anomalia relativa al funzionamento del GPS. Per quanto riguarda il tuo caso specifico, hai già provato a testare differenti app? 

Cosa accade, di preciso? La posizione non viene rilevata correttamente oppure l'app si blocca mostrando un particolare errore? 

Fatemi sapere rimango a completa disposizione.

Hello, the problem is certainly related to the Android and One Ui update. After having suffered the anomaly in two outdoor activities, I carried out "reset to factory data" and reinstalled only Oruxmap app over a clean system, but unfortunately the GPS fixing malfunction persists: no Ab. End. or error, Oruxmaps seems to work but in fact the GPS pointer remains fixed and moving on foot it's not evident that GPS is no longer detecting the movement, closing Orux and restarting it resumes a correct fixing, obviously with a "hole" in the recorded track (visually the program shows a line that joins the two GPS coordinates). The anomaly occurs after about two hours of proper operation and only by closing Orux and restarting it, the correct fixing of the GPS is reactivated. Tomorrow I will do an outdoor activity again and try to record with another app, Komot or Outdooractive, and I will write you the result.

The October patch update was released today, it fixed almost all the bugs that were introduced with One UI 8, including the GPS issue. 🫰

In this case we just have to wait for the test regarding the outdoor activity and verify the result obtained.

today activity was successful recorded in a GPS track of about 3 ours with no "holes", using Outdooractive !👌

Thanks to Darkginopaoli for the October patch availability notice;
I installed it immediately and hope that Oruxmaps tracking also works again🤞...because Oruxmaps has been my favorite friend in outdoor activities for several years and have a lot of maps over it and also saved hundreds of tracks as documentation.

I'll tell you in the next few days if the patch has been resolving for me as well.
