I’m using a Galaxy S24 with two SIMs: one private and one work. One UI already knows exactly which SIM an incoming call is coming in on and shows a small icon or label in the call screen.
In practice this is too subtle. Especially with unknown numbers, I need to immediately see whether a call is private or work-related, so I can switch context. A tiny SIM icon requires active attention at the worst possible moment.
My suggestion is simple: Allow users to set a clear visual distinction per SIM for incoming calls, for example:
a fixed background color per SIM
or a different call background per SIM
or a large, color-coded label in the incoming call screen
Chat apps already use background colors per conversation to make context instantly clear. With dual SIM and eSIM becoming more common, this feels like a logical usability and accessibility improvement for the Phone app in One UI.
Curious if other dual SIM users would find this useful too.
