Downloads not showing while downloading ?

Today I've been looking at emulation on my s24u. But i noticed all the roms im clicking download on, prompt me to download but then i see no system downloading in my status bar/notifications. I then click download again and the rom site says youre currently downloading. 

I've always noticed active downloading status on my phone but nothing now 😐

Any ideas ?

Just to say that you are treading on a 'grey area' with this post and one that typically we would not be able to offer advice on the community.

As you are aware, the use of emulators and retro gaming is completely legal, but the sourcing of ROMS and bios files are typically not so straight forward.

I cannot offer any useful advice in this subject. Have you tried just waiting.

Just to say that there is a large online community in other forums such as reddit that might give you the answers you need to get retro gaming up and running. I did go through this process with my steam deck a couple of years ago.

I suspect the downloading of these ROM files and the servers being used are not able to provide the download status you require or are being blocked by the android system at the higher level.

The download notification is part of the app downloading the file, not the system. So if an app wants to download something without a notification, it can. Web browsers should always do it.

I did suspect it might have been the rom sites as you say its not straight forward and packed with heavy ads.

I did wait on my last download and it appeared after it was downloaded in the background. I used firefox browser. So it may have been downloading status in the browser which i did not check.

I think the download notification has been moved from status bar to drop down notification screen YouTube Instagram only show in the panel and not status bar anymore
