Camera freezes.

Hi, the camera app on my phone freezes at what seem to be random intervals and I can only unfreeze it by restarting the phone. Has anybody else had that problem?

Hello,

same problem on my S21 FE 5G. My rear 1x camera is working well but sometimes when I try to capture luminous sky or object, the application freeze and shows "Camera failed" error.
My phone has been repaired 4 times by customer service. They replaces the 4 cameras (3 rear and 1 front) and even the motherboard but the problem persist.
I also tried the secure mode and reproduced the issue.
This problem seems to be recurrent on Galaxy S2X models without any help from Samsung.
Samsung does not care and told me to discuss with my operator which sends me back to the workshop who does not want to send me a new phone even if they are not able to repair it !!!
I think that Samsung benches does not stress the CPU and camera as it happens in the real life.

The camera froze again this evening. Still Samsung hides from this design flaw.

Hi Edward,

 

I am facing a problem with my  S24 Ultra. My front cameras are working fine, but the back cameras freeze and the app crashes whenever I zoom to 5x or above.

Have you found a solution for this?

Unfortunatelly I purchased it while I was on holidays in the US and I live abroad. I am flying back to the US next week and visit the store to have it fixed because the warranty only covers in the US.

The latest update on my ongoing s24 ultra saga. Earlier in the week there was a remote diagnostic session with Samsung engineers who once again could not replicate the fault. so it was put into safe mode and now after an uptime of approximately 65 hours the camera app has frozen again so that indicates that this has nothing to do with any software other than that supplied by Samsung. I personally think that it must be something to do with a spotty RAM. I have not really used that phone since I bought it brand new last June. Fortunately I retained my old galaxy S9 which I have been using. I really need some sort of redress for the way Samsung have behaved over this matter.

Just to add that the phone has been back to Samsung for 'repair' 4 times and returned exactly the same. I have transcripts of the MANY tech chats I've had with Samsung tech people who all seem to be chatting from the same script and promise callbacks at a set time. These NEVER happen so I've wasted many hours waiting for phone calls which do not come.

After 7 months of non-support I involved my credit card company, sent the phone back to Amazon, and have been issued a full refund.
