My Fibre recently got updated to 900/180.

I've noticed that the S23 struggles a little with throughput? Speedtests show it seems to cap around 550/600. This doesn't seem normal?

Granted 550/600 is enough but surely without 5ghz 160mhz, it should be capable of achieving better speeds than that?

So your getting desired speed via ethernet, try other wireless devices and see what speeds you get

speeds wirelessly are usually lower. So see what you get but it just maybe max throughput of your router.

As long as you get more than adequate speed over WiFi that all you care about really

I must admit the one thing I have noticed with the S23 inconsistent connectivity issues but not just WiFi. I notice it more when streaming radio i.e a lot mor black spots and drops Vs DAB in car or NFC most days it works flawlessly but for no reason on some days just won't play ball. I have found it happens most after firmware or system app updates. A soft reset of phone usually helps or disconnect/forget devices and reconnect them so it sets up a new connection. I hope this helps

It might be that I do need to enable 160mhz. The problem there is that that's just as temperamental too!

Is that with 160mhz enabled I'm guessing? Link speed will be 2.4gbps I think

That's right correct.....

But remember 5ghz with 160mhz may not be as clean as 6ghz. Eith 160mhz on 5g spectrum, your using many channels hence interfering with others. But on 6ghz it is relatively clean as the spectrum is new

That's because speed tests are not consistant, depending what server you get, the target server just to mention a couple of issues that affect speed tests results

You seem to be trying to find an issue as opposed to just enjoy using you phone

No device will ever give you 100% connectivity and speed test will never give you the same result

I just looked it up, max my router can provide is wifi5 which maxes out at 866mbps, which is what I am connecting to my router at. That not the speed of my connection to the Internet, just connection from phone to router

What a dismissive, and rude reply!

It seems that you are simply blowing off a customer who paid good money for his phone, and is experiencing a problem that many others have also experienced.

If you're going to whine when you can't provide a good solution perhaps you could find something more productive to do with your time.

Though your comments about the variability of speed-tests are on the nose. I get vastly diffetent results from the same test from one attemot to the next. And consistently different when using an app vs. a  webpage, even on the same device.

Though my ancient Surface Go does consistently score higher than my s23 Ultra. Sometimes Reporting 1.1  Gbps! Even though it's only using WiFi 5 (802.11ac), while the s23 has prominent 6 sitting on the WiFi Icon.

How am I blowing off a customer? You all aren't my customer, I am a customer like you, I just don't agree with you, I am allowed any opinion

How rude of you, to suggest otherwise. You need a like for like test to ensure results are realistic and correct like ensuring that each test site is the same, the hardware is the same, each can impact the results

I was making sure people, in this case Jaybee, understand that you can't rely on test speed sites. It can be used as indicator but not definitive

An another example of you, using a USB etherner adapter and a inboard ethernet adapter on the same machine can have different results

I am not saying any device is perfect either, but looking for issues like the speed is different seems a little much in my opinion and whiney as you put it

A lot report issues with WiFi 6 issues, I cant dismiss that but havent I experienced it at all, these are facts
