Hi everyone today was the first time I seen this as I've not looked before. But I'm was streaming to the TV and I put on my tablet and went to contact to home WiFi, and saw direct E1 Sharon's mobile in the drop down menu

What's that and why is my phone sharing that???

Enclosed pic

Thanks in advance Screenshot_20240302-122854~2.jpg

It's not actually sharing it. It's just showing as available.

Short of going around everyone and asking them to turn off everything within a 300 metre radius then....no. It's beyond your control, and you shouldn't let it bother you. As long as your connection is secure then you have no concerns.

Your connected to TalkTalk the others are just showing as others that can be connected within your area. Unless you have those passwords you wouldn't be able to connect to them. So long as your connected to the one you want to be connected on don't worry about those that your mobile picks up. Your not able to connect to it anyway.

Hi, some WiFi devices have 2 connections. One for the 2.4 and the other for 5mhz. Maybe your phone shows both.

All WiFi networks in your proximity will show as "available".

You'll see next to each one (in most cases) there is a padlock. That means to access their WiFi connection you need their password. That's why it is safe.

By way of example, your neighbours will also be able to "see" your WiFi/ internet connection but unless you share your internet password they cannot connect.

This is how WiFi works. To disable it, you'd never be able to access any WiFi network. It is fine as it is.
