Why on earth did Samsung remove the chromecast functionality?

One UI 6 beta fully supported chromecast in smart view, now the official is out, it's been removed, why, and are there any plans to put it back in?
This is the difference between me continuing to be a customer at Samsung (in the last couple of years I've bought the two buds pro, s21ultra, flip 4,s23 ultra, and 3 watches, I'm their ideal customer, but no chromecast is becoming a real deal breaker for me, specially since I replaced all my tvs with Phillips ambilight oled models, and I can't even cast to my fire TV Cube which should be supported?) and me leaving Samsung behind.

It was also available under hidden developer menu in ui 5

I remember, you had to smash the screen repeatedly and then put in the password for your model, now that's gone too.
Basically this update has removed a feature I've been using for ages now, that's not a step forwards, it's a step back, my only hope is that you can get into the developer options another secret way yet unfound.

What is it exactly that you are trying to do because most apps have a chromecast option like in this screenshot, but if you are trying to mirror your screen so that there are no gaps on the TV between the top and bottom then when you start screen mirroring go to smart view in the buttons panel, press and hold on it (you should then see the screen showing you what devices are available), then clix the three dots press settings and then select aspect ratio (note this will be greyed out if you are not connected to anything), you can then change the aspect ratio to match the TV instead of the phone and there won't be any more black bits on the TV.Screenshot_20231119_075201_Chrome.jpg

Hope this helps. 😊

It does somewhat, but still doesn't solve the problem of having to have my phone screen on, so that a, my battery is needlessly drained, and B, when I put the phone back in my pocker, the screen fips to vertical.
Thanks for the help though.

If you're using smart view then the screen should turn off on its own after a few minutes and carry on mirroring.

He's saying there's absolutely NO WAY to Cast or Screen mirror anymore on an S23 Ultra unless it's to a Samsung TV only! Google Chromecast isn't recognised for some reason as I've just found out after spending over a grand on the stupid thing!

I've been using Chromecast on my galaxy s7 and galaxy tab s6 until they abruptly removed it in the One UI 3.0 update. It was extremely frustrating because the new devices aspect ratio is not the same as the TV and when you cast the new devices using GOOGLE HOME, there will be black borders on the TV. Smart view had the option to change the aspect ratio which was the best feature for the new devices to get rid of the black borders. Samsung just HAD to randomly remove chromecast and then also randomly bring it back in the One UI 6 beta only to remove it again. I got excited when I saw you mention one ui 6 beta, smart view and chromecast only to fully read it that it's removed again. 😑

You were always able to until they removed it in the One UI 3.0 update. And then randomly brought it back years later in the beta version of One UI 6 beta only to remove it again
