Update options

Dear Samsung,

While security updates are necessary, I think appearance changes should be optional! I should choose if I want new icons, new Google bar, new widgets, etc. Spending an entire morning/day trying to relearn a phone I've had for months is not fun or fair. Not everyone wants a computer doing and thinking for them so make these features optional not mandatory.

Most of the changes (the Google bar, for example) were made by Android 15—aka Google—and affect all Android devices. Samsung did not have a say.

The forums contain many helpful posts, tips, and tricks to help make the device similar to UI 6 or to learn about the new UI 7. In my opinion- besides minor changes the phone feels and navigates the name- small thing like the swipe down panels can be changed, and the Google bar, beyond that not noticed a huge difference)

Once the phone was updated, you should have been presented with a screen explaining all the changes in UI 7. Did you skip this? Additional- theres an app called "tips" you can checkout

Everyone's opinion is equally valid, so, as a community, the best we can do is give ideas on how to improve your experience! What, in particular, don't you like? (Icons can be changed in Galaxy Themes; there are plenty to choose from, some of which look like UI 6.)

Learning is good for Mental Health 😊

We have seen a lot of posts with seemingly unhappy people about ONEUI 7 and for the life of me can't figure out the issues personally.

I guess I am in the group that loves the changes didn't feel a difference 🙃

Samsung does allow lots of options both natively and via their Goodlock App on Samsung store to customise your phone the way you want.

So it's not all doom and gloom and Android in general is all about customisations.

Then again we respect everyone has different expectations, experiences and needs.🙏

It's not correct that android 15 forced the search bar position in the app draw. It's actually at the top on pixel phones. Samsung uses it's own custom launcher so search bar placement was Samsung. Samsung have had the vertical app draw before through home up. It would be better if they added a setting in the launcher for either vertical or horizontal app draw then a separate settings for app sorting.
