I bought the S23+ online but i wanted to raise something.
I heard that the One UI 7 made the battery life and performance even worse. I also read that the latest June/July update "may have" addressed the issues. A chat with the official Samsung Help UK Twitter page via DM stated that "they are aware of such issues " but further stated "they could not give a timeline on a fix".
Anybody out there who own an S23+ phone I would like to know how based on your current usage if there has been any dip in the battery life and performance?
To Samsung , It would be nice to know your advice re this specific issue please. Thanks.

It's 100% a problem.
It's so bad I want a full refund for my phone. I didn't spend £1,200 to be confronted with the mountain of problems the One UI is causing with the phone, from charging issues which makes it difficult to charge the phone at all, to battery issues which drains your battery basically while you watch, to spelling corrections that is always wrong, and on and on. It also messes up the notification sounds and you can't switch them back. The battery drains 30% overnight while not in use. Turning off background apps, lowering screen light, etc., does nothing to improve performance. And if you switch to battery saving mode the entire screen switches to dark mode. I basically have every single app in deep sleep mode and even that does absolutely nothing to improve the rapid battery drain. I can only imagine how much this will damage the lifespan of the battery in itself even if they fix this - and Samsung will have to cover a free battery replacement at no cost.
I am infuriated. This phone has turned into a useless decoration, total cr*p, with the latest update.
It's been nothing but a disaster with this update and more so with the fact that you can't even reverse it and go back to the previous version.

To put things into perspective....
I've had OnePlus and Xiaomi phones in the past. More recently i had the 13R and the Xiaomi 14. Both have Android "skins" on them (Oxygen OS & Hyper OS respectively). In my experience, relative to their battery capacity and specs, they had far better battery life than my Samsung devices. And you would think having skins on top would make them worse.
A quick research online would tell you that One UI is so much heavier and resource-hogg than the other two OSes. It's a shame that even though there are some useful features within One UI having so much bloatware is sadly one of the primary reasons why battery life takes a significant hit.
Unless Samsung starts putting silicon carbon batteries of 5000mAh & above then no amount of software optimizations and tricks would help extend the battery life significantly. This is where iIMO Samsung is far behind the competition.
