I bought the S23+ online but i wanted to raise something.

I heard that the One UI 7 made the battery life and performance even worse. I also read that the latest June/July update "may have" addressed the issues. A chat with the official Samsung Help UK Twitter page via DM stated that "they are aware of such issues " but further stated "they could not give a timeline on a fix".

Anybody out there who own an S23+ phone I would like to know how based on your current usage if there has been any dip in the battery life and performance?

To Samsung , It would be nice to know your advice re this specific issue please. Thanks.

I have had my S23U since first release and battery is as good as ever.
The only thing I have changed is to set my battery protection to 85% instead of 80% so that by the end of a busy day my battery does not go below 15%.

Also another new Google play system update has been released today.
Installing this will trigger an app optimisation after restart.

Regarding the battery, the device is relearning your usage habits, and within a month it should stabilize.

So, is it normal for the phone to "re-learn" your usage in a month before the battery life stabilizes? I thought it only takes two weeks.

How about a video that with a little bit of tinkering i saw that by clearing the cache it will also help?

I also wanted to ask whether adaptive brightness (or auto brightness) turned on actually helps? I thought that's entirely the opposite.

Turn off phone with a USB lead plugged into a PC and phone holding down the power and volume down button.
Then a text menu will appear. Scroll down to clear system cache and press power button. Then restart phone.
System cache cleared.
Also most people think that battery does not last as long after an OS update. The reality is that the reason is usually the fact that they are using their phone more, playing with it and looking for new features.
It's only when usage returns to normal level that the phone can reach best optimisation.

So, in reality how long does a phone take to optimise itself after a major update such as One UI 7?

It can vary, but up to a month.
Also adaptive brightness can be good for some and bad for others depending on use.
If you always use your phone in dark places the adaptive brightness will turn it down low. But if bright and sunny conditions it will turn it up. If the later applies then setting a constant at the lowest best brightness can be better.
Ypu can also check through the battery settings what apps are using the most power and stop them from running in the background.
Also over time your phone will put unused app into deep sleep.
Another tip is to close apps you are not using instead of leaving loads of stuff open in the background.
Do this by the III shaped button on your navigation bar and selecting close all or selecting ones to close by swiping them up. If you do this every time after you have used your phone before putting it back in your pocket your battery use will decrease.
