Ok, If the new update has fixed this battery issue, is it possible to keep this update on the mobile and stop it from updating further in the future ?

Have a S23 Ultra, and yes on light use I got 1.5 days without charging. Since 6.1 update it drains rapidly.

Things I have done to stem drain

(1) Wipe partition cache (didn't help much)

(2) Went through apps and disabled permissions and put to sleep apps when unused

(3) Deleted Facebook app (meta was a drain). Disabled Instagram and you tube. Tik tok anc X didn't affect desk much

(4) Switched screen to lowest resolution possible, black background, adaptive displace at low light levels

(5) Changed hardware performance for energy efficiency and battery life vs hardware performance

(6) deleted unwanted maps and cleared cache  for all apps

(7) turn off WiFi when not in use

I can get one day out of it... But basically I don't use the phone. Obviously it lasts longer if I turn it off completely... But then what's the point in having the phone

In general, it uses about 1% battery per 12 min Internet usage or apps that use Internet or 5% per hour... Which gets you through the day... But bear in mind no gaming, no you tube, no heavy apps except surfing or using email, msg apps etc...

No disrespect but my P10 Huwaei lasts 3 days in that mode... So the question is, why are people buying expensive phones when the battery tech just isn't up to scratch?

I now carry my P10 around for emergencies when travelling because I can rely on that, plus it's alot light that carrying two 10,000 power banks for my S23 ultra when on the go or leaving my s23 continuously charging... Which effectively rules it out as a mobile device.

I think huwaei or xiamio will be my next phone

The battery life used to be great, but now it's as if the phone aged 3 years in performance.

I recently upgraded from an S21 to S23 because I thought the battery was draining too quickly on the S21. But, got the S23 two weeks ago and.....battery life appalling! Am now wondering if the S21 battery wasn't actually a problem after all and that it was that update when all the problems occurred. I have trawled the Internet and utilised EVERY recommendation, but even when not being used it can easily lose 10% of power per hour with the vast majority of apps in deep sleep. The review stats of high draining apps doesn't really flag anything of concern - it's just the battery life is extremely poor. I go hiking a lot, take a couple of pics but don't like going for more than 2 hours because battery life can go from 80% to 15% in that time! Brand new phone with hefty price tag. Not impressed and definitely since the last update. One UI sucks.

I have the same issues, battery only lasts about 4 hours before I need to recharge. When looking at the battery usage,  and adding up the usage it reports,  from android auto to media picker (whatever that is), only used 22% however, the battery down to 14%, and nothing saying what has used the other 60 ish %, my biggest frustration is why Samsung has not commented on this, even to acknowledge there is an issue and they are working on a solution, that is some way would alleviate frustration levels, but to buy a product they charge a premium for and this is the result after 12 months, have to say am not going to be a Samsung user for much longer, i can not trust or rely on this phone unless i have it plugged into an external battery.
