These new buttons are trash. I never switched to Apple because I like my phone controls and customizations. Why remove and not add more choices.

I dont think its the customer feedback. If Samsung really cared about customer feedback, they shouldn't compromise user experience in every one ui update. Since one ui 4, every update made my samsung ultra phone more hard to use.
So in every update that I am forced I started to lose functionality of my phone.
For example I never used my phone camera after one ui 5 update. Loss of camera functions.
I disabled google assistant/ gemini after one ui 6.1 to use Navigation swipes.
I disabled Android Auto and Bluetooth after one ui 5 update has silenced my notifications when connected to bt device although all sounds are on. (When connected to ear buds or bt headset I sometimes take them off. When a call or sms/whatsapp received, Phone doesn't play a sound. It keeps ringing on a bt device. So i miss all calls etc. Before update Imcould switch notifications on both)
Samsung tries to make users let samsung.

When Apple phones started to get cheaper than Samsung I looked at them for the first time. A massive decision for me not to move over was the gestures, the 3 lines are engrained in me and my usage of a phone and I use them every hour that I'm using my phone. For samsung to not even give the option to have it as it was and pander to other people that use other companies phones in hopes they'll move over is ridiculous. I don't usually install updates because of stupid things like this that make me hate my phone but my camera started flickering so I had to.
GIVE US BACK THE OPTION - also is the only work around installing those 2 apps or have they listened to threads like this like the OP said in edit 2?

Absolutely NOT. This is the most unintuitive and unnecessary change they have done to such a frequently used feature which is basic navigation. It's like they didn't even bother testing or running it past a few people for their opinion. They should have at least included options to change gestures to how they used to be, intuitive and quick.
