Does anybody else have the same problem as me? When I'm watching a video or on a video call on my s23u, it randomly closes the app and minimises the video in a pop up screen, this happens with any app. With YouTube, it minimises and then opens back up again as YouTube doesn't allow it.

Does the video continue to play when it then shows up as a pop up window i.e a mini player or picture in picture @Notorious_bigrich  ?

In the search bar search picture in picture.

Or go to Settings > Apps > Tap on the 3 little dots in the top RhCorner > Tap on SpecialAccess.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I think Youtube only allows this when upgrading to Youtube Premium.

Apart from that mine is fine.

Have you considered trying the generic troubleshooting step of clearing the apps cache file which may / may not help.

I'm having exactly the same issue with my s23+

Worked fine until about a week ago, but now video playback in nearly all apps (Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Chrome) seems to drop out of full screen to the minimised/mini pop up player. Usually happens about a minute into the video.

I'm on android 14 / One UI 6 (and just updated to 6.1 with the issue still present.)

Did you find a solution?

I've updated everything, checked all obvious settings so I'm starting to think it's a fault with the phone. Maybe the accelerometer?

If anyone is reading this with the same issue, I think I have found the cause and resolved it.

It's something to do with the Messaging app.

To fix it, go to Settings/Apps, search 'Messages' and then force stop the app.

Hey, my phone just randomly started to work as normal again, I'm guessing Samsung knew about this issue and patched it in a recent update 📱👌
