Mark texts as unread

Hi, I have a Samsung S23. Can anyone tell me how I change a message to 'unread'? None of the the Google, etc, suggestions work. Thanks

What messaging app specifically? The main two being samaung messages or google messages

Hold down on the message from the main homescreen of Google Messages (where you can see all the chats). Hold down on the text you want to mark as unread. In the top right corner, click the 3 dots, then it'll offer the "mark as unread" option.

**I don't use Samsung Messages personally; I just downloaded it now, and it doesn't seem to allow me to.

To my understanding, this isn't possible on Samsung Messages... the "hold down" doesn't work on my end.

Hi John - thanks, I use 'pin to the top' myself but this doesn't address my 'unread' issue. Thanks for taking the time to respond. 😊

Hi - this video shows you how to mark all msgs as read but I want to change a few msgs to 'unread'.
