How to delete from gallery but not from sync drive

Hi all,

I have my gallery sync on with one drive, and it's great. But I want to delete things on my phone but not delete it from the one drive. Can this be done ?

I want for it save all my content to the drive... I have more space on the cloud than I have on the phone. Any suggestions?

Go to Gallery -> Settings -> Sync with Onedrive -> Free up phone space.

Deleting photos here ONLY deletes them from the device. Any new photos will store on both device and cloud, but you can repeat the above process when you need more space.

It's an all or nothing, unfortunately - Google Photos is the same.

On my S21 if I follow the above solution I just get 'no items' message in free-up-phone-space

If later on I wolud like to re-download some of the photos from One Drive, will they appear in the original folder (e.g. Camera) or in the "downloads" folder?

Thanks for this.  Is it possible to select the photos I want to delete with this method?  It looks like it's all or nothing.  Thanks!!
