Hi

Would you say you that the older Galaxy A54 is a better value now because of the chipset (having decent performance), very decent photos & videos and a far better battery life than the newer S23 FE ?

Or would you say the S23 FE (after all those software updates) is a much more compelling device to invest on in terms of those aspects mentioned? Or is the overheating and poor battery life is still a reality?

Or would you guys rather just get the vanilla Galaxy S23 for its chipset, cameras and everything else?

Get S23 ultra it has all The AI features of the S24 but at less than half price and will get Android 15, 16, and 17.

It depends on your budget and what you want to do with the phone. I have an S24 Ultra and an A54 5g. The A54 5g does pretty much everything that the S24 will do with a handful of features missing e.g no wireless charging. The A54 runs slower and has less storage but the battery life is far superior to the S24. The A54 5g supports an SD card whereas the S24 Ultra doesn't. There are pros and cons when comparing any phones. Hope this helps

It all depends on your requirements. I have the normal s23, and it has all the ai features and recently have been updated to one ui 6.1.1 couple of weeks ago. I like everything the s23 has to offer, and I have no issues with it. It will get 3 more os upgrades and 4 yrs of security updates. Samsung has released the S24 fe this week. It looks way better than its successor, and plus it looks identical to the S24+. And it'll get 7 yrs of updates.

I never considered an S23 Ultra device. Too big and heavy for my hands, expensive and i don't see the purpose of having a stylus on a phone. And besides it it gets splashes water may come in contact inside the stylus port which i do not like.

I heard that all A-series and S-series released in the last 2 years that is on 256GB storage runs on a more faster and more efficient UFS 4.0? is this true?

I am not too excited for all these long updates cycle. For me it is just marketing speak. People (and companies) don't realize and consider whether a person will actually use a device for 5, 6 or 7 years? And even if they use it for that long i will bet all my money the phone will either slow down or all these new features may not even be available due to hardware limitations. For me I'm happy if a device will get three years of OS support and four years of security patches.

The S24 FE looks interesting. Only if Samsung did not make it bigger, taller, wider, heavier than the previous model. And let's face it... for over £600 it is not priced competitively. If it was £599 it will sell like hotcakes. Samsung prices are exorbitant and bonkers tbh.

I'm concentrating more whether the A54 is a better phone than S23 FE (lighter, better battery life, etc.) or the S23 FE is better than the A54 (newer, better chipset, better camera system but a bit worse battery life). or get a vanilla S23 instead.

I'm also looking into getting a 256GB version of either of those phones as  I heard they have the newer, more efficient UFS 4.0. True or not?

I'm not sure myself. A54 is still a good option. I like the s23 as its 6.1 inches. The A55 is also 6.6 inches and it should be a bit better than a54

Mine has 128gb storage and there are 128gb and 256gb options. To get round storage limitations you can change a lot of apps to use the SD card instead of internal storage. I'm not sure about the storage speed on different models. However I find it does everything I need and up to now has been very smooth and stable and compared to my S24 Ultra seems to maintain a faster network connection but my S24 has 2 sim cards in which seems to slow it down. You will notice the difference in performance when running graphics intensive apps such as games etc, where it can lag or stutter. But beyond that I would have no reservations recommending the A54 5g, it's a great phone for the price, the battery life is the best I've seen, you could comfortably get 2 or 3 days use on a full charge with light use the downside is it's slower charging as it doesn't have the super fast charging speed of some higher models.
