At least on my phone (set to show during daytime), it uses quite a lot of battery so I would like to have a change to it's options. I already send feedback to Samsung about this from phone, I put it here too.

1. Change option "show AOD for new notifications" by adding adjustable time of how long it shows AOD when new notifications comes, like 30 seconds. Currently AOD is on forever until you remove the notification.

2. Add tap to Open function to the same "show for new notifications" so I can have both see new notifications for a while when they arrive and tap to open AOD when I want.

I think with that kind of change I could save battery quite a lot compared to having AOD always on (or scheduled).

AOD is meant to stay on, that's why it's called that, if you don't want to see it then remove it. It's there as a guide to let you know the time and various notications.

There are already now three options to make AOD not to be Always On. I just brought up one improvement idea to save battery and bring some privacy aspect also. Having AOD always on on every situations is not very good from privacy point of view. Otherwise AOD is a very good feature.
