Screenshots issues/inconsistencies after OneUI 7 release

I don't know if it's just me but, since the OneUI 7 release, taking screenshots from my S22 Plus have been inconsistent. I usually save my screenshots in PNG before the update and everything works perfectly. After the update, taking screenshots most of the time would make my phone screen unresponsive (besides sliding down the panel or home gestures).

Recently I tried troubleshooting it and it might be because of the toolbar, in fact, when I turned it off, the unresponsiveness got fixed but the screenshots would not always be saved. It would give me like 4-8 screenshots attempts just to save one, specially in social medias like Instagram(DMs, user profiles) or Whatsapp(DMs).

I tried switching the format from PNG to JPG and everything just worked perfectly again.

I think there's something wrong with the PNG format saving or the way the app processes it. You may wanna take a look into this Samsung!

TLDR: If you are having screenshot issues, try switching your saving format from PNG to JPG, it might fix your problems.

Hi, we welcome you to our Community!

I'm sorry for what you are experiencing using your device.

By carrying out tests with our laboratory devices I did not encounter the anomalies reported when saving screenshot in PNG format.

In order to be able to exclude any conflicts arising from the presence of third-party apps installed on the device, I suggest you check if you encounter the same situation by booting the device in safe mode.

In this mode, most third-party apps will be blocked, so you can check, using the main functions of the device, whether the anomaly found is due to a conflict created by an external app.

If what you find does not persist in this mode, there is at least one app on your device that interferes with correct functioning. You will therefore have to gradually eliminate the installed apps and, at the same time, check the behavior of the device.

To access safe mode, simply follow the procedure indicated on this link:

Keep us updated on the outcome of the test. :smiling-face:

Just tried it and it works fine! Also, I want to mention that, I don't think I have any apps that interferes with the screenshot feature. I don't have any third party apps that uses screenshots or modifies my screen behavior - not even floating apps (just Discord and Messenger).

The issue usually happens whenever I try to take screenshots either on Instagram (DMs, user profiles) or Whatsapp (inside the chats) with the PNG format.

Here's a clip of it for reference. I used Instagram's profile to reproduce the issue:
