Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra boot loop after software update

I updated my phone a couple of days ago, and starting yesterday night (October 29, 2024), it began rebooting itself and got stuck in a boot loop. I tried everything, but the issue persisted. In the end, I had to factory reset it. After that, it started working again, but today (October 30, 2024), it started rebooting itself again.

I haven't dropped my phone, and there has been no contact with water or anything like that. Since it works normally from time to time, there shouldn't be any hardware problems. The problem is likely related to the software.

Update following my earlier post on this thread: whilst my phone was still at the repair centre (yesterday) I explained to them that I'd seen the same issue reported many times on here, some people having to have the motherboard replaced due to the software update. I questioned why with it being a Samsung issue am I having to pay for a 'software flush'. This morning I got an update saying my phone was on its way back to the store (no additional detail) anyways, contacted Samsung again, they've just confirmed that the phone has been repaired and its motherboard replaced. I'm assuming that the 2nd opinion that I requested has resulted in the phone being fixed under warranty 🤞🤷 hopefully I will collect a fully working phone.

The interesting question would be, what will happen if you update your software again? 😅🫠

Hello, we are very many users to encounter the same problem on our S21 / S22 / S23, the phone is in "Boot Loop" mode, for my part it has been several weeks that it lasts making my S22 Ultra unusable. This problem appeared after the One UI 6.1 update and the bug is known to Samsung who has already had to intervene on the Indian market by taking charge of the repairs, unfortunately, in any case here in France, Samsung turns a deaf ear and does not want to recognize its mistake.

My phone started turning itself off and on again.  I downloaded the latest updates for the phone (S22) and now it is stuck in a boot up loop.  Looked Online and all the suggestion don't work apart from one about putting it in the freezer.  Phone went to boot up lock, clearly cache.  Did restart and now back to boot up loop.

I can tell you updating to a November patch didn't solve my phone problem. Only made it worse; I've not been able to use the phone at all since the Nov update. I was able to manage the phone with Oct patch but now it's just an expensive paper weight

The only solution is that all Samsung S22 Ultra users send letters to Samsung's CEO and also involve tech reviewers in this issue.
You need to describe the problem as extensively as possible, explaining that Samsung devices get stuck in a boot loop cycle and fail to start. Highlight that this problem started right after the ONE UI update, and initially began with the issue where, when using Wi-Fi, the phone would overheat and start rebooting itself daily. Eventually, it wouldn’t even turn on anymore, even after a soft reset. Neither clearing the cache partition nor restoring the phone helps, and emphasize how much the phone cost you. For example, I waited for a pre-order, paid €1450 for it 2.5 years ago, and waited 4 months for it to arrive.

Additionally, mention that this information will be spread across all possible platforms until Samsung acknowledges their fault. It is unacceptable that after 2 years, the device is as good as trash or requires a motherboard replacement at your own expense, costing over €500.

The more people write, not only on Samsung's pages but everywhere possible, the more attention this issue will get. Then, perhaps, a recall could be initiated. Now, with the S25 about to be released, it’s crucial to disseminate as much information as possible to make Samsung customers reconsider whether buying this new model is worth it if older ones are failing. Once Samsung feels that sales are declining, they might start considering finding a solution for such problems.
