S22 ultra - Steps to fix many issues

I had so many problems with my s22 ultra from lagging, crashing, freezing, crackling sound and more.

I tired so many things and none of them has worked. Before sending I tried one last thing, that I didn't do. And this has worked so far for the past 6 days.  Follow the steps below and hopefully this works for you too.

 

1)  First clear your cache partition  

2) Then do a Factory Reset

3) When you turn on the device do not setup anything at all  just skip all.

4) Then setup WIFI and Google and Samsung account.

5) Open up play store and galaxy store. Update just the software only, no apps etc

6) Do not use smartswitch or cloud backup to restore anything. (I had to type all phone numbers by hand) 

After these steps you can download all your apps and hopefully it will work for you too.

The one thing that I keep seeing in all these posts where people are having problems is they have used smartswitch. I've been in IT a longtime and I always advise against using such software. I could be wrong but I suspect this to be a root cause for a lot of folks.

@K4Y0 what issues does that fix? I have the GSM drop out issue with mine

I use to get call dropouts and hang up as well. Just now a friend called and said my phone went to voice mail rather then the call coming to me. the 2nd time he called came through. It use to be far worse then this before.

Not really this has happened to me once now. Before it was always having dropouts and hang ups, and also crackling sound and coundn't even hear people over the phone.

I came across straight from note 20 using smart switch. It's been pretty fine for me so far. Yeah, battery was pretty shocking at start, but it seems to be doing a lot better now.

I want from S9 to S21 using smart switch and it was also fine but looks like going to S22 ultra gave problems. The battery is also very good now.

My preference is to use my Samsung Cloud back up.

I prefer not to use Samsung Smartswitch.

I occasionally download my apps via the Playstore and MyLibrary however I usually find my Samsung Cloud backup takes care of that.
