S22 - text messaging wont work..its visible but greyed out

Just got a new phone and transferred everything over but the text messaging wont work..its visible but greyed out and i cant type anything. Does anyone know what i need to do

Can you take a screenshot and pop it into your thread.

On the phone maybe two messaging apps @Josell1 

I use the Samsung Messaging App which looks like the icon at the bottom of my screenshot.

Well i would but its a new phone and i havent a clue how to screen shot. Also it asks for default messaging service but i dont know how to check what that is either

To screenshot there are a few options.

1 is to hold down the volume button and power button as the same time and the screen shot will happen.

This also applies to the Samsung Galaxy S22. Simply press the Power Button (a.k.a. Side Key) and Volume Down key at the same time, and then release them. (Do not hold the buttons down.) The screen will flash to indicate a screenshot was taken

To set your default messaging app.

Settings, and then tap Apps. Tap Choose default apps, and then tap SMS app.
