No Sound problem with an FiiO external powered Q11 DAC&AMP on S22 Ultra

I get no sound when i connect my FiiO Q11 Usb DAC on my S22 Ultra (tried alot of cables even the small one bundled with my FiiO). The curious thing is that when i tried the same setup on my bro's A51 (android 13) everything works great. What could be the problem?Android 14 has a limitation on an external usb DAC (FiiO Q11 has an internal battery) or the problem is related to s22 ultra internal setting? I heard even on S23 Ultra there are people.complaining of similar issues.

I don't know if it matters or not, when i connect the DAC ,my s22 ultra gives this kinda of message: external large power usb connected. Cannot acces it because it needs external power supply.  Something similar, i dont have the device with me but this is the message.

Thank you,

Kat

Hello - for what it is worth from a fellow AudioFool, forgot these add ons just get the Buds2 pro and a Premium Tidal or Qobuz account and enjoy. I used to use a Cyrus and still have an AQ Cobalt USB DAC.

Back to your question, what app are you using with the FiiO, as Android will always default to its internal DAC, is used to use USB Audio Player Pro.

That said no sound suugests another issue, not sure using a powered DAC into a S22U is a good idea.

I tried the FiiO Music app and also samsung's own music app.

Q11 is a powered dac&amp, i mean it has an internal battery.

The weird thing is that this setup works perfectly on a cheaper A51 and using only youtube app.

I think it has to do with another issue, or with android 14's or something related to s22 ultra system.

FiiO app or Samsung won't bypass the mobile internal DAC.

Also which are you sure what your using isnt a HEADPHONE AMP/DAC, if so you need to use the digital volume for that as it probably overrides the Samsung volume - but i still think without an app like USB Audio Player Pro your DAC is having no affect as the mobile DAC is the default.

I tried also on youtube ,the same ,no sound. I also checked and turned down and up the fiio q11 's own volume *****, nothing.

From what i know, samsung s22 ultra dac applies only to its speakers and not to usb out?

Update: tried also on iphone 11 a few.moments ago, it works flawlessly. So far, only my phone doesnt work s22 ultra, the A51 and iphone 11 work great without any setting.
