Can someone please help. I have recently been having issues with my signal, call reception and data where I live. The phone I have is a Samsung S22+ on 02 in the UK. The phone I have is a US made phone and the carrier of it is AT&T which is based in the US. I have been looking at the band frequencies between the two and they all differ for LTE/4G/5G etc which is making me wonder. I have raised issues with 02 and they say there is a problem in my area with my nearest phone mast. This phone mast issue has been going on now for roughly 2/3 months and they say engineers are working to fix it asap. I am wondering if I am looking too far into it? Or maybe them saying the phone mast near me not working might be just an excuse to cover themselves and the issue is actually my US based phone? I am really hoping the issue is 02, otherwise I am going to have to maybe get my phone software flashed with a UK one.

Thanks,

Shirley

Modern phones should support global frequencies. I wouldn't say that's even a worry anymore.

While your phone being a us model might mess with updates, it shouldn't affect signal.

For a little trick on the faulty cell tower, you can manually set your phone to use 3g mode. Usually faulty cell towers are 4g and 5g, 3g tends to be more reliable. When the tower is fixed, enable 4g and 5g again

I have been reading about frequencies etc and yes, my phone should support global, I agree. It is affecting my phone software updates as per my other post I have on here. I am kind of glad though because I have seen tons of people complaining about android 15 and I'm not sure i want to have all the issues I've seen. I never thought about trying just 3G. I will give it a go and hopefully it will be better and I'll do what you said if and when the tower gets fixed. Thanks for your help and advice.

I have a US version of Galaxy S 22 ultra. I have been using it for last three years. I suspect it's the problem with O2 network. They are the worst in UK. Also, you will get regular updates as supplied by Samsung. No need to flash. Thank you.

I have today started the process of transferring with a pac code over to EE. Regarding software updates though, if your using a US made phone with a US carrier in the UK, you don't get software updates, I've already discovered that. Thanks for commenting.
