Samsung support told me to raise this in members. I've just updated my S22 Ultra to One UI 8 and Android 16 and now the icon text on my home screen has gone from white to grey and I can't read some of the text in the dark areas of my wallpaper. If I swipe up to see all my apps, the icon text there is white like it used to be before the update, it seems to only impact the app text on my home screen. I can't find anywhere to change this back to white text, any suggestions?

Thanks raviksuman, I've already tried using Good Luck and the Home Up module, I couldn't find any way just to change the icon font colour?

I'm so sorry, I don't know what else to suggest. Hopefully, one of the 'Samsung Members Stars' team will be able to help you as soon as they see this post. My apologies once again.

No problem and thanks for the suggestion. Yes, hopefully someone else closer to Samsung will respond soon, Samsung support suggested the developers respond to comments in this community, fingers crossed they're right.

@Rich05UK Out of curiosity, have you tried through Settings: Accessibility > Vision Enhancements > High Contrast Fonts?

I hadn't, but I've had a play around with accessibility vision enhancements now and whilst there are a number of ways to help see the dark icon text on the dark wallpaper, it also changes all other text throughout the phone and apps which looks awful, so I've rolled these changes back and I'm back at square one unfortunately. Again another excellent suggestion though, thanks.

Hi, I'm not sure if you found an answer to this yet. I've been having the same issue since the update. The best I've been able to find based on previous posts is that the app icon font color, black or white, is based on your wallpaper. I ended up changing my wallpaper and the font went back to white. If you find an alternative solution let me know!

Thanks Sarah, yes I've read the same thing, if you have a dark wallpaper the text usually automatically goes white and vice versa for lighter wallpaper, the icon text goes dark. I can confirm this is what happens, but I have a photo as my wallpaper, I've used it for over 10 years and don't want to change it. The issue is my photo has a mixture of light and dark areas and it seems to favour the light areas and automatically change my icon text to the dark colour, which means half the text on my screen can't be seen in places where my wallpaper is dark. If the icon text is white like it has always been in the past, it can be seen far more easily across my whole wallpaper.

When I reported it to Samsung, they told me to raise it in this members community as it is apparently the only way of relaying the issue to the software developers. I'm sure there must be a better way but this is all I have to go on unfortunately. Hopefully a fix is implemented soon .

@Rich05UK I'm so sorry that no viable solution has been found as yet. As no member from the 'Samsung Members Stars' team has responded to this post, I would recommend leaving feedback for the Software Developers via the Customer Support section of this app and choosing 'feedback'. If I personally come across a suitable solution, I will of course reach out to you (and @SarahVanAlvarado) via this app. My apologies once again for failing to find a suitable solution.
