Geekbench...WTF happened Samsung😡.

What the hell is going on with Samsung, all the hype for the S22 Ultra but the Exynos version is getting  bad publicity, some even comparing it to a budget phone because apparently it's running so slow and full of bugs?. The icing on the cake now is the Geekbench scandal regarding Samsung manipulating figures on how fast the phones actually are and the geekbench scores were fake and manipulated by Samsung.....very bad news. I haven't upgraded yet and may not now hearing this.

GOS has been highlighted recently which is in place also to stop a phone overheating when performing extended game play on a phone.

This isn't exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy s ²² Series of phone's whether they be Exynos or SnapDragon.

It's also not exclusive to Samsung phone's from what I've read.

A person can use Alliance Shield from the Playstore if they want to disable GOS.

And Samsung have listened to tech people and their customers and are currently developing a software update to allow the owner to make an informed decision.

It does appear from some people posting on the Samsung Community Forum that actually own and use the phone are experiencing some issues.

Others are copy and pasting links from Tech Articles who don't own the phone themselves.

I do own and use the Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra 256gb Exynos SoC variant and mine is fine. I've not personally experienced issues with any of the apps I use however I don't Game on my phone's. 

As for Geekbench 5 tests and other bench tests I take them with a pinch of salt as they don't reflect an overview of a person's own unique experince while using a phone.

I have read tech articles that suggest GOS didn't affect bench tests results and if that's true then Samsung need to adjust so that tests like these do reflect a true reading / score.

I've owned both SnapDragon and Exynos SoC phone's with my experience being that the battery usage time is better optimised on the SnapDragon.

Thanks for the reply, I did want the Ultra because I've already got the 10 plus but the feedback is conflicting. I'm not watching anymore American reviews because of the different chipset. I know Samsung will fix the issues quickly....I still have faith.

@LMay I would add to @BandOfBrothers 's reply by saying that there would appear to be some defective units floating around. When you look at how some phones are behaving (crashing, freezing, displaying appalling benchmark results), you can't help but think that there's no way anything like that would have made it past quality control. Pair that with the recent revelation that the yield at the chip fab where the Exynos 2200 is made is atricious (around 35%, i.e. only 1 chip in 3 made is actually usable, the rest are garbage) and it looks like some chips that were maybe a bit close to the spec made it through to production. I'm not saying that Samsung knowingly made phones with defective chips, I'm saying that if some faulty chips spilled onto the production line, it could explain the results that some owners are seeing.

There's no way Samsung would knowingly release a phone loaded with an SoC as bad as some people are making out. The two variants of the S22 Ultra are not that different. The Snapdragon beats the Exynos in single core performance while the Exynos beats the SD in multicore performance. The SD is faster at image processing. Still photos are really quite neck-and-neck between the two. The SD beats the Exynos in low-light video and its image stabilisation is better. Battery life on the SD variant seems to be better as well.

The areas where the SD outperforms the Exynos can mostly be fixed with software updates.

I have the S22 Ultra 512gb Exynos and it lags everywhere. I have the screen at FHD because in WQHD it's really bad. Compared to a Pixel 6Pro it's really embarrassing. I upgraded from the Note 10+.

Hey I have S22U 512|GB as well but I do not have problems with the smooth working, the battery was better at the beginning but now is shorter. Generally work fast no have a problem have set in WQHD all time and have 15-16H on battery. Game no test much but on PUBG no can get anything better if smooth on Graphic settings probably need to wait for updated game.

Thanks for the update, I'm looking at upgrading this week. I'm going for the 256 in black. I hope I don't have the same issues. Samsung really should look at their chip policy for all their handsets except the lower end phones.

Oh and when i test benchmarks then was better before the first update, but after was half of this score but I did catch clear and factory restart and Geekbench 5 back to normal. Only make sure you do not use transfer data from the old phone because I think this makes a lot of problems.

I heard about the transfer data issue, how do I transfer old phone content to new phone.
