Does the S22 feature an Infrared Transmitter inside of the phone, so that it may be used as a universal remote control?

Chat Support didn't help.

I have checked GSMArena for the Samsung Galaxy S6, as I know that has an IR blaster, however it does not mention this whatsoever on the website!

Where can I find a website that pertains this info and where would I specifically look for this detail? Thanks!😃

I have bought one as well, but that is coming in mid-September. Nevertheless, I still would like to know for my other devices; What website has this info and where would I look specifically for this detail? 🤔

No offence taken if your speaking of the s22 its https://www.samsung.com/uk/smartphones/galaxy-s22/specs/

Other devices if older maybe harder to find help. my advice you could look at the device and see if you notice an IR on the phone would be I would say on the top of the phone.

Samsung stopped putting the IR blaster some years ago now.
If it had one, you would see a small black spot on the phone frame like the one in the photo. That's on the Huawei P50 Pro. 20220821_150325_12126_1661090607.jpg

Samsung removed IR Blasters starting with the S7 ,general opinion was it was not widely used at the time.  see some confirmation here  https://www.greenbot.com/samsung-galaxy-s10-ir-blaster/  https://www.easyacc.com/blogs/blog/does-samsung-galaxy-s20-have-ir-blaster

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

AFAIK there is no infrared transmitter on any S22 or even any phones . You might find the odd brand and model that does but it would be an exception as not a standard.

There are  a few devices with IR Blasters from the likes of  Huawei,Poco and Xiamoi . However some are not widely available.https://www.androidauthority.com/phones-with-ir-blaster

Remember that the primary purpose of the IR was not for changing TV channels, but for transferring data. Its a holdover from when phones and pcs did not have Bluetooth or WiFi built in as standard. Transfer of files by IR is incredibly slow for modern file sizes, so it has not been a feature of mainstream phones for many years now.

My S22 Ultra has been used as an extra remote control for our Samsung and Sony TVs.

I simply downloaded TV Remote apps from the Google Play Store; works like a charm though the phone and smart TV both have to be on the same WiFi network.
