I have dumped many logs after crashes and it boils down to the following:

1. Missing Base APKs:
Repeated errors like:Failed to parse /system/framework/arm: Missing base APK in /system/framework/arm Failed to parse /system/priv-app/SamsungCoreServices: Missing base APK in /system/priv-app/SamsungCoreServices
These indicate that critical system files required for Android's functionality are either missing or corrupted. This is a major issue that can cause crashes, instability, and boot failures.

2. SELinux Denials:
Multiple avc: denied errors show that SELinux is blocking access to certain resources, such as: path="/data/data/com.samsung.android.fast/databases/google_app_measurement_local.db"
This suggests that apps like com.samsung.android.fast (related to charging and performance management) are being restricted by SELinux policies, potentially causing app malfunctions.

Root Cause

The crash appears to be caused by a combination of:

  • Corrupted or missing system files, particularly in /system/framework and /system/priv-app.
  • SELinux policy misconfigurations, leading to blocked access for critical apps.
  • File system corruption, which may prevent proper installation or operation of system components.

These issues likely stem from an incomplete or problematic firmware installation, or software bugs specific to this device model (Exynos-based Galaxy S22).

I have freshly flashed with the latest firmwire:

https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s22/firmware/SM-S901B/EUX/download/S901BXXSDEXKA/1895092/

multiple times, so there is no questions left. We can try to turn off this and that and get the illusion that the phone works for a couple of hours or even days but it will crash eventually, it will all depend on the internal working of the system we have zero control over it as it is so close to the core workings of the operating system.

Have you installed the Jan update? I'll be honest I'm a little anxious to do so. My phone works for now with WiFi and Bluetooth off. I have used close to 300GB of mobile data this month, thankfully I have a unlimited plan so it isn't costing me a fortune. But I'm worried the Jan update might completely brick me.  I feel I might just wait on the 7.0 release

Installed it.

It rarely freezes. But for an hour or two. There are no endless pre-starts

He rarely thinks for a long time. It does not heat up at the same time

The most interesting thing is that it worked. But I found that the updates started via the Samsung Store . Stopped the update. Later, it froze. I want to start the phone and delete the updates.

My s22 ultra has been doing this for 3 weeks now. The weird thing is it only happens on or around Friday and it lasts for a few days, then works again for a few days. Today I did a factory reset and even during the factory reset the system ui and process system kept crashing. It took me a few hours to finally get it to where I could manually set it up again. I thought that would work but even now with minimum apps on it, it is still lagging and crashing. So fed up!

I got the same issue (S22 Ultra stuck in boot loop), I was using the camera when the screen froze and then the phone re-started. I saw the message 'optimising apps' which only happens when the phone updates, so I know update was at play. Then it restarted again and went into a boot loop and kept on restarting.

I spent an hour with Samsung discussing options, but they are too stubborn to acknowledge how wide the issue is and how many people it has impacted. They said it needs to be inspected first.

Took it to the official repair shop, who were awful. Basically they said, it needs a new motherboard (quoted £400!). I asked if they have 'diagnosed' the issue, turns out, the technician logic was, since the phone can't be turned on, it must be the motherboard ...

I said even if I was ready to pay that ridiculous money (which I wouldn't), how would you know if it is motherboard, have you diagnosed it? They said no, they can't run diagnostics because the phone can't be turned on and that's why can't be diagnosed. Well, that IS the problem that it is not booting ...

I left with no resolution, Samsung apparently have released this new update OneUI 6.1.1 (I think) that has impacted many S22 line phones, let's see if they own it. Time to switch to another brand, if this is how Samsung are going to treat us.

NOTE: IF YOU ARE READING THIS, AND HAVE BEEN IMPACTED. PLEASE AT LEAST POST ABOUT IT, SO SAMSUNG ARE COMPELLED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

I took my phone in for repair and they diagnosed that it was the motherboard overheating causing the phone to constantly crash. After $250 CAD the motherboard was replaced and I'm happy to say it works again. Not happy that Samsung did this to me though and I'll probably switch to PlusOne after this.

I had the same issue (see my post above) and had my motherboard replaced and that fixed the issue. Thought about upgrading to the s25 and I think that's what Samsung wanted. Glad I was able to fix it for now. Will probably switch to PlusOne if it fails again.
