When wearing polarised sunglasses, it's near enough impossible to read the screen when the device is portrait. When landscape it works fine.

Very annoying. Anyone else have this issue?

I'd rather the other way around - reads fine when portrait but not landscape.

Problem:

The screen appears dark when the user looks at it through polarised sunglasses.

Cause:

Your phone screen uses a polariser to make it easier for you to see clearly, just like polarised sunglasses.Polarised sunglasses only allow light to pass through in a single direction, and your phone screen only emits light in a single direction.Your sunglasses and phone screen end up counteracting each other by working in opposite directions. As a result, you end up seeing a dark or black screen.

Solution:

Rotate your phone.Take off your sunglasses when using your phone or install a screen protector (about 0.2 mm thick) to cancel the polarising effect to a certain degree.

Take of the pre-installed screenprotector. Had the same with my S10+
