Those of you who frequent this site will know I've been harping on for months about the awful network signal on the S21 Ultra.

Today I finally bit the bullet and bought an upper midrange Motorola Edge 20 Pro 5g.

OMG what a difference. Across the entire village I live in, 4g+ just about everywhere and a small bit of 5g exactly as per the coverage checker for my network suggests.

The S21 Ultra?
H+fl for the vast majority, a little bit of 4g, virtually no 4g+ and a tiny bit of 5g.

WHEN WILL SAMSUNG RECOGNISE THE PROBLEM????? It shows that the issue of the Exynos 2100 and Samsung Modem are simply not fit for purpose.

All I can say is "Hello Moto" and "Goodbye Samsung". I won't be buying Sammy again.

Thats odd! Especially for the ultra. I use the base version of the S21 and I get way more (and better) signal than I did on my old phone (A51 5g). I get 4g everywhere that I have been and a fair bit of 5g too. Thats so odd that your S21 Ultra is having a problem but my S21 (base model) is going strong. Might be more that the unit u got was fault rather than the device in general.

Yes, it is going back for refund as agreed with Samsung.

Motorola is far better for signal from my experience. Glad to hear your S21 is going well.

But which mobile network was either with. Here in SN15 there are several spots where no services work. They are natural dead signal areas because of Nimby syndrome which does not accept that more masts are needed to aid signal bounce.

All on Vodafone.

This is a like for like. Both handsets together. I've been complaining about this for months and now I have indisputable proof.

I don't know how long you have had your Samsung for but I got mine in March so it was on Android 11. I had no signal issues until Android 12 so I'm not sure it is the modem.

Pixel has the same issue https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.androidpolice.com/google-pixel-6-and-6-pro-owners-claim-cell-sign...

Hi there Pugs1957

Mine came last summer (June/July) and I started complaining about network signal issues in the first week. It has taken this long........

Thankfully though I now have a device that is on Snapdragon (SoC and Modem) and the difference is stark.

Hi Nic1234 Well you had yours before Android 12. Did your signal get worse after the update?

My reception fluctuates between 2 and 5 bars on 4G+ in the same room in my house. The Samsung channel selector app boosted 4G reception off the scale.

Hi again

Sadly the signal issues has been consistently bad. As I said above, most of this village I could only get H+, on the M Edge 20 Pro I'm getting 4g+ almost everywhere.

That's not good. I don't care about what goodies a phone has if you can't use it for its basic purpose.

I'm mystified why this hasn't been addressed because the benefits with a strong signal also creates less battery drain.
Weird!
