nova launcher not optimised for Android

I have the novia launcher on my S21 Ultra but occasionally it crashes and the only way to resolve it is to manually lock the phone and reopen it. I get a notification that novia launcher isn't optimised for the latest Android. 

Any ideas how to resolve?

fear that it just means we will have to wait on the next update (current version is 7.0. 57about 6 months old ) not sure when there will be an update

Nova launcher currently has a beta out version 8.0.2, head over to APK mirror if you would like to give it a go, I've used nova for a lot of years never had any issues
