Hi,
After updating the June security update in my Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, I inmediately lost all pictures and videos in my gallery (made with the phone, so in the DCIM folder), as well as all Whatsapp files (photos, videos, documents,...).
On top of this, I cannot make any picture with the camera (it blocks and closes automatically), and cannot download anything from Whatsapp (photo, video, audio,...).
The heating issue is still happening with the update, but it was happening with the previous update already (phone heates so much sometimes).
Is anyone having some of these same issues? Is there any solution available, other than waiting for the next update?
Thanks a lot.

@Members_XleTboW Have you searched in My Files as well as Google photos? Do you have syncronisation with One Drive set up? Are you photos not backed up anywhere else such as Dropbox ,other cloud services or local storage. some advice in this article. https://www.techradar.com/best/best-ways-to-backup-photos I would recommend backing up photos and files, cannot really take the chance.
If still issues with the camera have you checked your permissions to see all is ok there/ Apps-Camera-Permissions. Are on you the latest camera update and are you ab to Reset the camera, via Settings- Reset Settings in the app. An idea to Force stop via Apps-Camera and then clear cache via storage-Clear Data and cache.
could also try in Safe Mode: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/
If no resolution advisable to wipe the cache partition to clear temporary files, data is intact.
1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer or plug in USB-C Headphones , Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
4. Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.
can also repair apps via the same Recovery Menu.
If there are still issues check the Diagnostics to see if any errors are identified. Go to Samsung Members-Support-Diagnostics-Camera. You may need to send Error Report: Samsung Members-Support-Error Report.

Thanks! After searching, I see now that the problem is that apparently all my apps lost the permission to "Files and Media". It simply doesn't appear (it's not that it is deacticated, it's not in the list of permissions of the apps). If I go to all permissions and I clicked into that one, only two apps have that right (and the rest are not showing in the list, so I cannot activate them or anything).
That would explain the whole issue, because it means that none of my apps can store files or media, I cannot take pictures, download pictures, or even delete pictures.
Do you know a possible solution to this?
I already tried everything you mentioned above (including the Safe Mode, where I still get the same issue). I didn't try the cache partition, but knowing what I just told you, is that a possible solution?
Thanks!
