Yes it's normal to an extent since the display it's amoled, considering the age of the device, if you have used max brightness that's a factor that can increase the chances of burn in

Leaving the screen on with high brightness on a static image, think about elements like the keyboard, if you for example whatsapp for a long time the keyboard stays on (static) so that can be ""burned"" into the screen

Unfortunately you can't do nothing about it, only the samsung repair center can replace the display, it's the only way

To prevent burn in, keep the brightness at around 50%/60%, keep the auto turn off screen for only a few seconds

Hi smartfridge, welcome to the Samsung Community.

Burn-in effect is a condition that might occur upon displays, no device is totally free of it, but that doesn't mean it must occur.

So, use your mobile based on your daily routine and no worries about if your are thinking about make the jumt to S24 🙂.

If you like to have a check on your current S21, you can refer to a Samsung Customer Service Centre: https://www.samsung.com/it/support/service-center/

Please note: if you are an italian customer, you may express yourself in italian: this is the Italian Samsung Community.

Have a nice day.
