Wifi calling setting keeps disappearing! Also, signal problems

Hey,

I'm getting really frustrated with my S20 phone.

Since having it, my network reception seems to be terrible - which seems too much of a coincidence. On my previous phone I never had these problems. I will be in a call and the person speaking will just cut out for a second or two, but enough for me to obviously not be able to hear a thing they are saying. Then it comes back.

I thought I'd be able to get around this by having WIFI calling on, but the setting keeps coming and going - is this normal behaviour? Sometimes it will be in phone settings/Wifi settings, and others it won't show. 

Also, does anyone else have these phone reception/signal issues on their S20 when making or receiving phone calls? It's so frustrating. I have to keep asking the person on the other end of the line what they have said. As I said I never had these issues on my Huawei, so I am pretty sure it can't be a network issue.

for quick search, type "Wi-Fi call" above Settings

for signal, restart phone

try removing case/cover if (there's one) to compare 😉

go into wifi calling setting and use WiFi network prefered and it should stop doing it 👍

@strawberry cake thanks but as I mentioned the WIFI calling setting comes and goes - it's not always there, so it doesn't matter if I search for it or not. Also restarting my phone doesn't help with any of these issues.

@Ashgreentint thanks, I have done this and set it to WIFI calling preferred (when the setting showed up that is!) - can you do a similar thing for 4G, so it uses 4G preferred for calling? Sometimes on people's phone screenshots I see a "VoLTE" icon at the top, how come I don't have that?

Thanks @strawberry cake , so just to confirm is VoLTE supported on this phone? The only thing I see under "Mobile Networks" is 4G calling for SIM1, but there is no indication that it works (no icons in the status bar etc)

what network you on alex? On 02 it didn't show the volte icon but it still worked. on EE it does show the icon. sometimes it's the volte that causes the problem, try switching it off and see if there is any improvement. unfortunately you can't set 4G calling as preferred but generally if its there your phone will use it.
