Does any s20 ultra owner experience problems with the display when sitting in the sun the screen dims to a level that you can barely see? Even though the screens brightness is on max when checking.

Hi @Edi4445
Did you enable adaptative brightness ? Some people prefer it and some not...Try both.Adaptative Brightness

Yes , I always keep it on automatic it's the easiest way for me ... this is the only phone that did something like this. I don't find it normal

I have both s9+ and s20+ on adaptive brightness while i transfer the phone acrosss, but not only is the colour less "red"(the white has more blue then red on the s20) but its quite a bit dimmer then the s9.might try it on max after smart swtich finishes and compare.
but on adaptive brightness, for my s9 at least, i did have to manually adjust it in some scenarios for a good few weeks before it worked correctly, it apparently learns how to "adapt" to the envroment and learns over time if you keep changing t ebrightness level (i turn on the "show brightness bar at top" so i just pull down the notification bar and slide it a bit.. so i can also guess thats why my s9 is brighter then my s20 right now, as its learnt what i keep changing it to in this particular lighting - and after a month/./ and for the past 2 years my s9 brightness hasnt needed changing much (i only change it to minimum when i go in cinema and texting etc before putting on silent before the film starts lol)

I will ha to try to manually adjust. The guys from samsung repair centre are useless they told me to keep it on manual and adjust it myself which is stupid I paid a lot of money for the phone I want the brightness to adjust itself... I will use it anyway how they said until the phone act's silly but this time I will take pictures so that I have proof to show them that they are useless.

Dont buy this bs about adaptive brightness, etc. Many users have exactly the same problem with ultra and s20+. Hardware cant handle regular tasks during warm weather or direct sunlight. Phone overheats and dims to a degree it is barely readable. Some are lucky to get a refund. Some (me too) not. The store where I purchased mine closed because of covid. By now I have visited official service center like ten times, service guy sent multiply reports to samsung.. and all they say is "wait for future software updates". Means wait till we nerf your 1000+ eur phones. What a shame. Proper way to solve the issue would be to refund or change for snapdragon version, samsung however has chosen to ***** its clients. Looks very much like it was the last samsung device I purchased for myself, family or businnes.

I hope they will manage to sort it at least to a degree that it lowers power consumption so that it doesn't overheat ... if they knew about this they should have not released the phone with a defective hardware... I really want to make some pictures when the phone goes crazy.

Yes, I have this problem and, to be honest, I regret getting this phone. This is my second S20 Ultra, as the first one kept on overheating, and now, not only is THIS phone also overheating, but the screen is so dark I can barely watch anything on it (yes, the screen is set to full brightness, etc, etc!). I've tinkered with the settings and nothing improves. I've done a factory reset and still the same issue.
I am not impressed at all.
