I have the S20 FE and I am trying to use it on my Lenovo laptop to transfer files via USB but it keeps rapidly connecting and disconnecting. The status of the phone charging since it's plugged in never changes but nothing will work. The sounds for it connecting/disconnecting keep playing constantly. They will stop if I switch the USB settings on my phone to 'Charge Only' instead of 'Transferring files/Android Auto' however I should be able to do more than just charge it with my laptop. I have tried multiple USB cables and both USB ports on the laptop. I have even tried an adapter that plugs into the USB-C port on the laptop and all have given me the same results. Any ideas of how to fix this issue?
Constant mounting and unmounting could be a driver issue. Try reinstalling the drivers for it (via device manager on Windows), and turn on usb debugging in developer options on your phone.
Once you connect the cable and swipe down the notifications, you should see an option to convert to File Transfer mode from Charging mode. Switch to the desired mode by tapping the radio button and see if it enables file transfer.
I have the same issue, I tried with several cables, but with some it disconnects immediately, and with others after a few minutes, but the most stable was with the original Samsung cable.
Same here s20 plus verizon android 11 except mine connects and disconnects usb all day long every few seconds and its not plugged into anything i think its an android 11 issue or one Ui 3. Whatever issue im sure its draining the battery.
