S20 FE Is there an app which does natural postprocessing, how to avoid oversharpening, unsharp mask like effect?

Hi,

I wanted to upgrade from my Ipad, S20FE has definitely better dynamic range and is sharper, but I cannot get rid of that cheap unsharp mask look. I mean that edges are getting that particular shadow, black outline. It really looks like applying unsharp mask in Gimp to me.

Basically I have used PRO mode of stock camera app and also tried Open Camera with Edge reduced, disabled, same for noise (disabled noise is pretty bad). Am I doing something wrong, is there a better way to still have non-RAW good image, but without this outline-ish, unsharpen mask style look?

I wonder if that is typical for smartphones or this particular phone, as I am not a smarthpone user in general, but did want to actually buy one just for taking the photos and avoid carrying classic standalone "camera". I definitely prefer natural look of the photos so this kind bothers me, as I do crop pictures a lot.comparison1.pngcomparison2.pngunsharp.png

update:
I did test some other apps like Open Camera, HD Camera, GCAM 7.3, GCAM 8.1 (various verisons)

GCAM improves the results, makes them more natural, but it is a hit or miss as pictures are more blurry or noisy. Also the application is buggy, sometimes you need to reset it to make photo etc.

In daylight, the issue is much less visible. Anyway, in the end, I decided I will stick to what I have, return a new smartphone, and upgrade in the future once they get better or rather buy DSLR, I need to trust my cam to show the reality rather than pretty picture.
