I am now on my second phone after thinking I had a faulty one, first time round. It would appear not. After using the phone and transfering my SIM to my previous phone, Huawei P20, the difference was vast. I have no signal inside, and 1 or 2 bars outside at best. Comparatively, with the Huawei, same SIM, EXACTLY the same position, inside I get 1 or 2 bars, and outside the 4G signal was maximum. What's going on Samsung? I have heard reports about bad GPS, surely this is linked? A design flaw? Antenna in the wrong place? Bad modem? I really am not happy, especially after opting for a Samsung for the first time, an apparent top-end phone. Joke.

Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Status -> SIM card status and check your "Signal strenght". Compare that to your other phone. I noticed the same lower bars when i got the S20 compared to my XZ1 compact. But then i checked the signal strenght on both with the same SIM and it turns out they have pretty much the same signal, but the Sony shows more bars.

Hello. Yes I did that, I took both phones with me, and would swap my SIM. The Huawei was getting -60 dBm while the S20 never got better than -96 dBm. Appalling from a new, 'top' phone. I will not send it for repair, to a place that is not where I use it, for me, this is a ridiculous test.

Is the huawei maintaining 4g mode while getting this result? Further down in the same menu it says what mode it is in. Because if the signal for 4g is weak, it could be droping down to 3g to get better signal.

Yes it's 4G. Believe me, I've tried everything, and I'm no beginner when it comes to technology. It's infuriating

I just upgraded from my OPPO R15 Pro to the Samsung S20 Ultra, and I agree the signal is atrocious.. at first I though it was the 5G connection so I turned it off and surprisingly 4G was worse. WiFi is not on, nor is WiFi calling. I've already tried solutions Google has provided and no improvement. The camera is great, but it's clear they didn't put any thought into the antennas strength. For a "luxury" phone and the advancements in technology we see year by year it's a huge disappointment..

Hello, I'm having the same problems with signal which is hugely disappointing. My previous P20 had no issues like that. Got very frustrated today when I've ended up with many voice mails and I'm concerned about missing important phone calls due to poor quality of this phone. I've checked everything possible but my old phone is still much better and Samsung will have to go as it is not relaible.
