I've seen that this is a feature on my mobile so I thought I'd try it. It doesn't work I've tried it with a few apps but still they use WiFi even though the setting is set for Mobile data only.

Any ideas why this is?

It might be beneficial @simon_88  to go into Settings > Connections > Data Usage > Allowed Networks for apps > Tap on the app and set it to use which connection you wish.

Also long hold on your Wi-Fi in your pull down shade and tap on Intelligent Wi-Fi and look at the settings there.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

That's the way I have done it, and it works with wifi only setting but not mobile data only setting. I think it's a software issue but my phone is up to date.

Have same issue with S24. Set in firefox and Whatsapp:

Mobile data/ "Allow background data usage: Off"

Then in settings/connections/data usage/allowed networks for apps

for both firefox and whatsapp "Mobile data only", and apps are still using wifi. So there must be a bug.
