Is anyone else experiencing the following on their Galaxy S20s:
1) Fingerprint scanner not working most of the time, even after several attempts and registering of the finger prints again and again.
2) Google Maps and Waze apps causing the system to lag after shutting them down and going back to the home screen - icons take a 1 to 2 secs to apprear and screen goes blank again and reappears.
3) After choosing SD Card for photo / video storage - some still get stored in intenral storage
4) 8K video lag, even after the latest software update.
5) Battery life not very good on the Exynos version and reduces quickly.
Anyone else having issues?
Hi, I have a S20 plus and agree the fingerprint sensor is rubbish. Also I'm very disappointed with the battery life as well, my old P20 Pro was much better. I've had no issues with Waze as yet and can only hope software updates can fix some of these niggles as quite honestly I'm sort of regretting going back to Samsung!
This is my first Samsung - my wife has the S8 and I just bought my daugther the A71, which is good but again with a very bad finger print sensor.
The phone when it works properly is quite good and some really good features but I think Samsung rushed it to make money. The battery life is not good but that's due to the ***** Exynos processor that everyone gets in UK - whereas the US get the better Snapdragon.
Waze and Google Maps dont crash the phone when when I close the apps, the screens flickers and icons appear and reappear - so something is not right and is causing this lag. Samsung are aware as I have communicated this and videos of issues to them.
I hope future updates fix the issues, which I think they will, otherwise, they'll shoo themselves in the foot. I just wasnt expecting this on a phone that has 16GB Ram and has been marketed as the best phone with the best everything.
I am seriously considereing returing it and either swap for another unit or refund and wait for a few or several months and then rebuy again.
Hi @SanjayC ,
Assuming you’ve done standard troubleshooting (e.g. updating all your apps and software; rebooting your phone; checking if the issue happens in Safe Mode to see if it’s being caused by a 3rd party app in your instance; a factory reset as a last resort), then it’s best to submit error reports with log files on each of those issues you're experiencing via the Members app – as soon as that’s running again.
As soon as you notice an issue:
Samsung Members > Get Help > Send Feedback > Error Reports > [select error type] > attach a description and tick ‘send system log data’ > Send.
(Or: Long-press the Samsung Members icon on the Apps screen, and select Error reports from the dropdown menu, etc.)
Good descriptions of an issue and any video you're able to capture showing the issue are also great in helping the developers identify and analyse it - and help in producing faster and better solutions for you guys. 🙂👍
Thanks for responding back. Yes, everything, including the apps are all updated, have restarted in Safe Mode and still lag issues with Google Maps, battery is still depleting fast, amongst other things and fingerprint scanner is *****. I have even reset the device to factory settings twice.
I have taken several videos and have been in touch with the Samsung social media team who have seen the videos and have been giving advise and help but I have come to realise that this phone is not good and not worth the money I paid.
I feel Samsung released this product in a hurry and should have waiting another year - hence why I have decided to return it and get my money back.
This is supposed to be a flagship device that costs £1300 not some sort of beta device we have been given to test this should have been all sorted in advance its put me right off Samsung devices all they care about is there shareholders.
Mine is overheating and becomes laggy
Battery is drained really fast
Besides these 3 issues I haven't noticed anything else and that's because as soon as it did that I haven't switched it on again....
Waste of money
I have spone to Samsung support and seeing what the best resolution is as even they don't know due to the current climate.
I have also just done the error report submissions with descriptions.
Reported the phone on my provider as faulty and now I'm expecting a replacement.
I don't think it will be anytime soon but once I have it I'll update with a review.
