Downloading a file in chrome to SD

Hi, does anyone else have this issue? I have just got Andriod 11 and when I try to download a file eg. Pdf to SD card in chrome, it says its downloaded but won't open it, it goes to the preset sd folder by chrome, which I believe is the android/data/sd/download or similar, however we now appear not to be able to access the data folders! They all show empty!! 

If I download same file to internal storage its works. 

Is this an android or chrome problem?

Is there anyway to tell chrome to download to a different folder on the SD card? I want to save & open files from chrome on my SD card.

I have the same issue recently! maybe due to some updates?
I used to be able to save/download files to SD and locate downloaded file by navigating to Android/data/......
now all the files are missing! (they are not hidden)
tried formatting SD card and even full phone reset but still no luck!
I can copy and move files around on SD meaning it's not corrupted! I believe it may be some software issue!!

I don't know whether it was the latest Samsung update or Chrome update, but now Chrome downloads to the dedicated download folder on the SD card! So appears to have fixed my issue (still cannot access android data folders though) 🙂

Same issue here. I am having a download error while downloading any file in SD card through Chrome. Similar issues exist with annotating or editing a PDF which is in SD card. It is read only. Even though my memory card also belongs to Samsung.

When I talked to Samsung they said that this is a feature. Lol! And they won't fix it. You have limited permission of editing and writing on memory card in samsung devices and samsung memory card because of trust issues with memory card.
