Cannot receive SMS (data only plan), same SIM card on other device works.

Hi. I just got a new S20 FE for my dad. He has a data only plan and uses it on cellphones all the time with messaging apps like Whatsapp and Kakao. Both those apps require SMS verification and it always worked with other devices. Now if I insert that SIM card on the S20 FE, data works great, but no incoming or even outgoing SMS and calls. The data only plan does not block SMS and calls, it just doesnt include any. 

Same SIM works on Note 9, on Moto Z3 Play and S9. 
Data ONLY on S20 FE.

that's unusual. I had a data only tab S4 and set up WhatsApp no bother. sounds like a network provider issue.

Hi I was having the same issue, I'm in rolled in the android 11 beta program (s10) exynos version, what I done to fix the issue was simple, I toggled off send as chat message, sent a message & it worked, it will automatically turn itself back on.
