Can't set individual app edge notification colours after s/w update.

Just installed the latest s/w update on my S20+ but can no longer change the [individual app] edge notification colours Settings > Notifications > Brief pop-up settings > Edge lighting style > Colour > App Colour. The button is there and clicking on it used to take you to a screen where you could set each app's colour. Now you can select A general colour or App Colour but it won't take you to the individual app colour settings. I can't see where else this may have move to (looked everywhere I think) and it does not follow the setting in the App e.g. in my WhatsApp settings the notification colour is purple but edge notifications flash green. Please Help!!

I reached out to Samsung support about this. Turns out Samsung have removed the ability to customise Edge Lighting on the latest update. The only thing they recommended was to leave feedback, and hope and pray enough people complain about it so they'll bring it back. This is our only option at the moment I'm afraid. I'm not liking a lot of changes they've made to the latest update.

That's ridiculous, why spend effort taking away things that are both useful and creative.

I wouldn't mind so much but the update has changed all my colours so that the colours I've used for years and on all my devices no longer match.

Sometimes companies have the wrong people on the job!

I've got some good news for you! The ability to customise Edge Lighting IS coming back. However, it's said that it won't be until the second half of next year. Pretty rough having to wait a while, but it's a positive that we are getting it back at the very least.

I agree latest update has made the phone less effective in its notifications. if it ain't broke why fix it or in this case take it away!! 😡😡😡

Absolutely brutal update that changed all the app notification colors and won't allow us to change them individually back to our preferences. Be better Samsung.

I came here looking for this. I only bought my phone two days ago, I was so excited about all the different colours, I literally told a bunch of people that that was what I liked most about the phone. Spent a bunch of time customising everything, later that night it updated, all gone. This is ridiculous.

So with you. Looks like we may as well go to the sad, sad iPhone side. If they keep restricting thing as simple as this. What can we expect in the next 2 years. As I said may as well get used to iPhone as that is what it looks like they are doing 😪🤮🤢
